Gum surgery

For a beautiful smile, not only well-groomed teeth are important, but also healthy gums, which play an equally important role. Unfortunately, complaints about their aesthetic appearance and condition are very common.

Modern dentistry uses such a type of care as gum surgery, or gingivoplasty, a surgical operation aimed at giving the gums a natural contour. Most often, this procedure is performed for aesthetic reasons and to protect the exposed tooth root.

The main indications for plastic surgery:

  • To correct the smile line;

  • To equalize the height of the gums in case of gum recession, i.e. when the neck of the tooth is exposed;

  • During implantation.

In the postoperative period after gum surgery, some side effects are possible: swelling, redness, and hypersensitivity. For quick rehabilitation and the absence of complications, it is necessary to follow the surgeon's recommendations and regularly come to the clinic for examination.

Within a few days after plastic surgery, it is advisable to adhere to the following recommendations:

Rinse your mouth regularly, brush your teeth very thoroughly; give up bad habits: smoking can lead to inflammation of injured tissues;

Follow a diet: eat soft foods, avoid very hot or cold foods; do not engage in physical activity.

Пprogressive recession can lead to tooth loss. If you need help with issues related to the condition of the gums, please contact our dental clinic, we have experience and knowledge in this area.
